With the grouse season underway, partridge starting tomorrow (we cannot help but feel rather excited) and pheasant on the horizon, before we know it the season will be fully underway therefore now is the time to make sure your shooting kit is in tip-top condition.

Whether you’re on a driven or a walk-up shoot there are certain must-have items of kit:

  • Shotgun
  • Sleeve
  • Cartridge Bag
  • Cartridges
  • Hearing Protection
  • Coat
  • Quality outdoor footwear

What other equipment should you pack? House of Cheviot’s shooting expert Hugh suggests taking a small ball of binder twine or paracord.

"So many days in the field have been rescued by twine or paracord." he explains, "From a makeshift dog lead to replacing laces in your boots, it is well worth popping some into your bag or pocket."
