How our socks are made

House of Cheviot was set up 17 years ago and from the outset we strived to be the best sock manufacturers in the world. Combining local textiles knowledge, creativity in design and entrepreneurial business skills with a lot of blood (rarely), sweat (daily) and tears (often) to form what is now renowned as one of the leading luxury knitwear manufacturers.

We currently employ 22 passionate and highly skilled members of staff. All the manufacturing processes are completed under the same roof, from concept to completion. Each sock is passed through 12 pairs of hands, from selecting the finest yarns, to point linking, hand sewing and packaging to name but a few. This level of attention to detail ensures excellence in every stitch.

We take great pride in creating top-quality products and being a luxury ‘Made in Scotland’ brand. Although we have introduced modern machinery and techniques through the years, we believe in keeping traditional craftsmanship alive therefore much of our manufacturing process is very hands-on.

Quality is not an act, it is a habit.
