About Us
Founded in 2002 by Yorkshireman James Wright, House of Cheviot was born from a passion for quality and craftsmanship. With a vision to create premium products in Scotland, James chose Hawick - a town steeped in textile heritage - to tap into the renowned skill of its people. For over two decades, socks have been our foundation, crafted with care, precision, and a respect for Scottish tradition. Recently, we’ve expanded into accessories designed to match our socks, allowing each piece to stay connected to our core.
Our ethos centres on quality, community, and sustainability. Using the finest materials - including Merino wool, cotton and cashmere - we create socks that are as gentle on the planet as they are on your feet. Each pair is meticulously crafted in-house, reflecting our commitment to minimising waste, reducing our carbon footprint, and employing recyclable packaging to uphold responsible manufacturing practices.

Our range spans from classic country and walking socks to stylish everyday casual socks and luxurious accessories like wrist warmers and cashmere bed socks. Each product is made to stand the test of time, designed to accompany our customers on all of life’s adventures.
Our products have travelled far, gracing theatre stages, TV screens, and even film sets, and have been worn by distinguished figures such as King Charles, Rod Stewart, and The Hebridean Baker. House of Cheviot is also honoured to be the official sock supplier for Team Scotland’s ceremonial wear at the Commonwealth Games.
With a reputation for excellence, House of Cheviot embodies the best of Scottish craftsmanship, blending tradition, innovation, and sustainability into every stitch.
